A fresh start is a beautiful thing

It took me over four decades to realize that the desire to change—often, and sometimes drastically—is a gift, not a problem.

Until recently, I had never lived in the same place, kept the same job, or stayed in the same relationship for more than three-and-a-half years.

My life has been one reinvention after the next.

I used to consider this something that needed fixing. I identified as “someone who can’t stick with things.”

Coaching gave me a new lens for seeing myself and the possibilities for my life.

I started telling a new story, one that embraced my proclivity for change as on-the-ground training for helping people navigate their own reinventions.

Now I know my life thus far has unfolded exactly as it needed to. All the experiments, redirects, and missteps are my hardest-earned qualifications for being a transformational coach.

And, I know when you’re stuck in the muck of it, feeling lost and indecisive, it can seem like time is ticking and there’s no way out.

If you’re ready—to make the change you’re craving, to find the meaning you’re missing, to experience the life you’re yearning for—let’s connect.

You’ll find me in Los Angeles, where I live with my partner Erin and terrier pup Jeter.

  • One of my favorite coaching questions is something I've been asking people since I was a kid: What would you rather be doing right now?

I think I was hoping someone’s response would point me in the right direction since “What would I rather be doing?” was always such a tough question for me to answer.

Throughout my 20s, 30s, and early 40s, I was a chronic city and job jumper. New York, Portland, Los Angeles. Consulting, journalism, marketing.

On what felt like a whim at the time (now I know better), I stepped off the corporate path to study Chinese medicine and become a licensed acupuncturist.

Being immersed in the teachings of Chinese medicine felt like upgrading the operating system of my brain.

It revamped my understanding of energy and our capacity to heal ourselves. It taught me about the relationship between mind and body, and helped me see myself and others as part of a natural ecosystem.

For years, I practiced acupuncture in private and community clinics throughout New York City. I ran an acupuncture publication and podcast, wrote columns and books, and built a directory of acupuncturists.

    And yet, something wasn’t right.

The imposter voices in my head were loud. I was overwhelmed by feelings of unworthiness and fear when it came to charging for treatments.

With the mindset I had at the time, acupuncture became unsustainable as my livelihood.

At a loss for what to do next, I took a sharp left and started working in tech. This “detour” ultimately led to a pivotal shift in my life.

After moving through several tech companies and roles, I found myself designing digital products and making multiple six-figures a year—and feeling totally hollow.

In the process of trying so hard to keep myself safe, I had neglected my life force, the only real security we have.

The moment woke me up and led to a decision: I would stop reacting to my life and start creating it.

I would do whatever it took to overcome the limiting stories and assumptions holding me back.

    I would reinvent myself.

Six months after quitting my last tech job, I enrolled in Martha Beck’s Wayfinder Life Coach Training.

My operating system got upgraded again, this time from learning about how our thoughts and beliefs—not our circumstances—determine the quality of our lives.

Investing in coaching enabled several new possibilities for my life, including the full-circle experience of being able to professionally ask my favorite question:

What would you rather be doing right now?

  • Coaching with me isn’t about checking boxes to reach goals. It’s about helping you elevate your spirit—your life force, your frequency, your consciousnessthrough action so you can have the things you yearn for.

As a transformational coach, I’m always looking to go a level deeper—to slow down enough to see what’s really occurring.

What’s the question beneath your question, the desire beneath your desire, the decision beneath your decision?

I coach people who are willing to accept fear as a prerequisite for growth. Who mean it when they say they’re committed to showing up differently.

If we agree to work together, I operate from the perspective that you are a whole, capable, and complete person—and the only authority on your life.

I may offer you new perspectives or invite you to run experiments, always with the intention of helping you tap into your own inner wisdom.

There are no right or wrong answers—only insights that guide you toward choices that are aligned for you.
